    “Photography is a mirror of the universe”
    Owning a huge interest in art, Denny Tjan expresses himself through japanese manga when he was in Junior High School. "I found it was fun but exhausting," said Denny Tjan. Later on, young Denny attracts to photography, mostly on digital retouching.
    Via photography, Denny Tjan expresses his vision about art, meanwhile maintain his creative vision. Feeling not enough doing retouching, he pursued photography as the main person behind the lens. And his career begins.
    He voted "The Best Audience Favorite" on his final college assignment in 2007. Five years later, he won first prize in "Fashion Story Photo Competition" conducted by Institute France Indonesia, Air France, and Sheraton Hotel.
    It landed Denny Tjan on the Indonesian fashion photography scene. He landed as a photographer for L'Officiel Indonesia in 2013. He collaborates with prominent Indonesian designers from Tex Saverio, Hian Tjen, Rinaldy A Yunardi, Sapto Djojokartiko, Sebastian Gunawan, Denny Wirawan, Eddy Betty, to Ivan Gunawan.
    With his keen eyes on art, keeps continuing to inspire by social issues. From political movement to culture. He also conducts solo exhibition in 2016 called CANVAS: part one. On this exhibition, Denny Tjan collaborates with many inspiring women. This exhibition continues with a sequel CANVAS: part two UNITY.
    In 2017, Denny Tjan continues his series with CANVAS: part three INDONESIA KITA. This exhibition reuniting many figures from different fields such as politics, arts, culture, sports and many more. Followed by CANVAS for Asian Games 2018 : Athlete Portraits, on social media.
    This experience brings Denny Tjan to be more focus on portrait and commercial photography, while his experience with a famous portrait photographer Annie Leibovitz has sharpened his intuition. Projected personalities to express themselves via photography works is something that he enjoyed. “It is more challenging. It is hard for ordinary people to trust photographers with their knowledge on personal angles,” said Denny Tjan.
    With this challenge, Denny Tjan explores various explorative angle that was untouchable from his clients, which is mostly real people. “And it is not easy.”
    Denny Tjan also works with various clients from Hermes, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Dior, Cartier, BVLGARI, Alexander McQueen, Mondial, MAC, Omega, Jaeger Le Coultre, Il Bisonte and many more. His work also published regularly in magazines such as L'Officiel, Women's Health, High-End Indonesia, Esquire, Prestige, Grazia Indonesia, Elle and much more.
    He has envisioned himself as an Indonesian portrait and fashion photographer with sensibilities on social issues with a touch of art on every single frame he crafted.
